Alpha CHi Omega

My name is Liv Lohrbach and I am the president of the Theta Omega chapter of Alpha Chi Omega. When I went through recruitment my sophomore year, I was excited to find my forever home at Marquette. Not only did I find my home, I found a sisterhood that inspires me, encourages me, and supports me through everything. I’m so grateful for all of the leadership opportunities, friendship, and sisterhood this chapter has brought me.
Our chapter supports domestic violence and sexual assault awareness. Through events like Healthy Relationships Week and Walk a Mile in Their Shoes, we’ve been able to support and create awareness for this cause in the Marquette and surrounding Milwaukee community. As a chapter, we work closely with the Sojourner Family Peace Center and partner with the women from ExPOSED the Podcast to educate our community on domestic violence awareness and healthy relationships. The work Alpha Chi does to spread awareness for such an important cause is inspiring and has given me such an amazing support system here at Marquette. The women in Alpha Chi have always been there for me and believed in me no matter what. It is the greatest privilege to give back to this chapter as president and I am honored to represent Alpha Chi Omega.

WORDS FROM SISTERS
We have Healthy Relationships Week every year in the spring, and its purpose is to raise money for the Milwaukee Women's Shelter. Our philanthropy is domestic violence awareness, and taking part in the events this week not only help educate me on my relationships with others, but also bring me closer to my sisters!
One of our chapter's values is empathy. This is the core of our chapter and one of the vital aspects of our sisterhood. With a philanthropy such as DVA it is imperative as a chapter we cultivate a space for empathy, compassion, and respect so our sisters can have deeper conversations about how domestic violence plays a role in our society, as well as on campus. Conversations pertaining to healthy relationships and DVA are not always easy but with our chapter values of empathy, kindness, and respect our chapter is able to form such close and long-lasting bonds.
